Harry Potter actor attacked by knife-wielding ‘madman’, friend tells court

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , on 17th February, 2009 by Shaarang Gupta

A friend of Harry Potter actor Rob Knox broke down in tears as he described seeing a knife-wielding “madman” stab him repeatedly. Tom Hopkins told a court how he saw the 18-year-old stabbed to death outside the Metro bar in Sidcup, Kent, by Karl Bishop.
Mr Hopkins, 19, was himself stabbed in the head during the melee in May last year.
The trial still continues. I hope Rob gets justice.
He played the character of Marcus Belby in the yet to be released HBP movie.

Back in September, JK Rowling was honoured in Edinburgh, receiving an award for her contribution to the city. Her handprints have now been placed in the City Chambers alongside Ian Rankin’s, a fellow Edinburgh author who accepted the award in 2007.
JKR in her own words:

“I think it is particularly appropriate for a writer’s hands to be represented, so I am deeply honoured to have my keyboard-chipped fingernails, not to mention my pen-induced friction callous, commemorated in the place where I produced Harry Potter.”
