A request…

Posted in Uncategorized with tags on 16th August, 2008 by Shaarang Gupta

Recently, I received an E-mail from WordPress asking me approve/delete a comment on the post “Harry Potter realease delayed until July 17th, 2009″. There was nothing bad in the comment except that it had too many links to other sites in it. The person had written that he was promoting something and it was related to Harry Potter. So, I approved it. But please, this is a request that don’t include too many links in your posts. I’d say not more than two. And don’t keep posting links in each and every comment you make.

Also, you can see that there is an Akimset widget on the right-hand side column which displays the number of spam comments blocked. I want that the number it displays should always remain ‘zero (0)’. I hope you understand. I don’t want that a visitor to my blog sees that a huge number of spam comments were made. It lowers the interest of genuine readers.

Still, I’m happy that the person I’m talking about voiced his opinion and that I’m starting to get good response for my newly launched blog.

And yes, I suggest that all of you read the comment and visit the links. The person is promoting Harry Potter “cover-fiction” stories.

[The name of the person has not been disclosed because I don't want to hurt anyone and I request him that if he reads this post, he should not get offended. This post was required to maintain the status of the blog. I'm sorry if it has hurt you.]
